Wheat Straw Cat Litter Manufacturer & Wholesale Supplier
Wheat straw cat litter is made from a single agricultural by-product — wheat straw left after harvest, with nothing added. No fragrance, no dye, no binder. Pressed into 6 mm pellets, it absorbs 504% of its own weight and controls odor through absorption rather than masking.
Because it uses straw rather than timber, it is the direct replacement for wood-based litter: same pellet format, same handling, no trees felled. It also sells as small animal bedding, which lets one SKU serve two categories in a pet retail range. Magnet® manufactures it at our own plants in Qingdao and Tay Ninh for wholesale, bulk and private label supply.

Wheat Cat Litter Benefits
What makes natural wheat cat litter worth stocking, from a buyer's point of view.
504% absorption
Straw fibre holds more than five times its own weight in liquid. Moisture is locked into the pellet rather than pooling at the bottom of the tray.
A single ingredient
Wheat straw and nothing else. No fragrance, no dye, no binder, no filler — an ingredient list short enough to print in full on the bag.
No trees cut
Straw is a harvest by-product that would otherwise be burned or ploughed in. Wood litter needs timber; this does not. That difference is the whole sustainability story.
Biodegradable and compostable
Breaks down fully, and unlike most litters it is genuinely compostable. A stronger environmental claim than "biodegradable" alone.
Low dust, low tracking
Dust at 1% or below, and 6 mm pellets are too large to travel far on paws. Two of the most common end-user complaints removed at once.
Two categories, one SKU
The same pellets work as small animal bedding for rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters — a second shelf position without a second product.

Wheat Straw vs Wood Cat Litter
Wheat straw litter competes most directly with wood pellet litter — same format, same buyer, different raw material. This is where the two separate.

If freight cost per litre is your main constraint, note that wheat straw sits at 614 g/L — heavier than tofu or corn. Ask us to compare landed cost across materials before you fix a wheat cat litter wholesale order to one material.
Who Buys Wheat Straw Cat Litter
A good fit for
- Brands replacing a wood litter line. Same pellet format and shelf position, with a no-timber sustainability story your marketing can actually use.
- Retailers selling small animal products. One SKU covers both cat litter and rabbit or guinea pig bedding, which improves shelf turn.
- Clean-label positioning. A single-ingredient product is rare in this category and easy to defend on the pack.
- Markets with strong composting habits. Compostable is a stronger claim than biodegradable, and some European markets reward it.
Not the right fit for
- Flushable positioning. 6 mm straw pellets should not be labelled flushable.
- Lightest possible freight. At 614 g/L this is heavier than tofu or corn. If freight per litre drives your margin, look at tofu.
- Fine-granule preference. Cats used to sand-like clay litter sometimes reject 6 mm pellets. For those markets, offer a finer material alongside.
How We Manufacture Wheat Straw Cat Litter
Six stages under one roof. With a single raw material and no additives, the process is short — which is also why the ingredient list is one line long.
Straw collection
Wheat straw sourced from post-harvest agricultural supply, checked for moisture and foreign matter.
Cleaning & milling
Straw cleaned and milled to a consistent fibre length before pressing.
Pelletising
Compressed into 6 mm pellets under pressure. No binder is added — the straw's own lignin holds the pellet together.
Drying
Moisture reduced to target so pellets stay firm through shipping and storage.
Screening & quality control
Fines removed to hold dust at or below 1%; absorption and bulk density checked per batch.
Packing
Filled, sealed and palletised in your packaging.
Private Label & OEM Wheat Cat Litter
As a wheat straw cat litter factory rather than a trading company, packaging and pack-size decisions are made in the same building as production — which is the practical difference between us and a wheat cat litter supplier who buys finished goods.
- Dual-category packaging. The same pellets bagged as cat litter and as small animal bedding, with separate artwork.
- Flexible MOQ. Wholesale MOQ is 10 tons, roughly one 20GP. Mixed containers accepted.
- Free packaging design. Artwork prep and print production handled here.
- Certification support. SGS, ISO, TÜV, CTI and MSDS issued for your shipment.
- Quality terms in the contract. Inspection available at any point in the run.
- Retail-ready or bulk. Printed retail bags, neutral packaging or bulk woven sacks.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is wheat straw cat litter made of?
Wheat straw and nothing else. It is the stalk left in the field after the grain harvest, cleaned, milled and pressed into pellets. No fragrance, no dye, no binder and no filler are added at any stage.
How absorbent is wheat cat litter?
504% of its own weight. Liquid is drawn into the pellet and held there, which is how odor is controlled without any added fragrance.
Is wheat cat litter clumping or absorbent?
Our wheat straw litter works by absorption rather than by forming scoopable clumps. Pellets swell and break down as they take on liquid. If your market specifically requires a clumping wheat product, tell us and we will confirm what we can produce.
Is wheat straw cat litter biodegradable and compostable?
Both. It breaks down fully, and because it is plain straw with no additives it can also be composted, which is a stronger environmental claim than biodegradable on its own. Check local composting rules for the market you sell into.
Can it be used as small animal bedding?
Yes. The same 6 mm pellets are used as bedding for rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Many of our buyers run one production order under two sets of artwork to cover both shelf categories.
How does wheat straw litter compare with wood pellet litter?
Same pellet format and similar performance, different raw material. Wood litter needs timber; wheat straw is a harvest by-product that would otherwise be burned or ploughed back in. For brands with a sustainability position, that difference is the reason to switch.
What is the MOQ for bulk wheat straw cat litter?
Wholesale MOQ is 10 tons, roughly one 20GP container. Mixed containers are accepted, so you can combine wheat with tofu, corn or other materials within that quantity.
Can you produce private label wheat cat litter?
Yes — full OEM and ODM. Your logo, pack size and artwork, including separate artwork for a bedding version. Packaging design is included, and we provide SGS, ISO, TÜV, CTI and MSDS documentation for customs.
Can I order samples before a container?
Yes. Trial sample orders are welcome. Tell us which pack format you want to evaluate and we will ship samples for testing.
Which ports do you ship from?
Qingdao for China production and Ho Chi Minh City for our Vietnam plant. Vietnam origin is available where tariff treatment matters for your market.
