Cassava Cat Litter Manufacturer & Wholesale Supplier
Cassava cat litter — also sold as tapioca cat litter — is made from food-grade corn and cassava starch. It absorbs 613% of its own weight, clumps in three seconds and tests 100% dust-free. Those are the highest performance figures of any material we produce, and it reaches them with the shortest ingredient list: two starches, and nothing else.
Magnet® was China's first cassava cat litter manufacturer, and the material is now the backbone of our range — sold on its own at the premium tier and blended into every mixed formula we make. Available for wholesale, bulk and private label supply.
Why Cassava Outperforms Other Plant Litters
Most plant litters reach acceptable clumping by adding something — guar gum for binding, calcium carbonate for weight, fragrance or baking soda for odor. Cassava starch gels on contact with liquid, so the clump forms from the material itself. That single fact is what removes the additives.
Clumps without binders
Three-second clumping with no guar gum and no artificial clumping aid. The starch does the work, so nothing has to be added to make the product function.
613% absorption
Liquid is locked into the granule before it can reach the bottom of the tray. That is why clumps do not stick to the litter box or the scoop.
Odor control with nothing added
99.2% odor control comes from the porous granule structure, not from fragrance, baking soda or activated charcoal. Suits fragrance-free and sensitive-cat lines.
100% dust-free, SGS verified
Not "low dust" — dust-free, with third-party testing behind it. The strongest claim in the category and one a retail buyer can check.
Pure white shows what matters
The uncolored granule makes blood in urine or feces visible, which turns an ordinary litter into an early warning an owner cannot miss.
Lasts longer per bag
Higher absorption means less litter used per tray change. The same weight of product stretches further, which is the number end users judge value on.
Our Cassava Cat Litter Range
Two formats. The fine granule is the flagship formula; the pellet trades some absorption for dramatically lower tracking.
Fine Granule Cassava Cat Litter
The flagship formula: 60% food-grade corn starch and 40% cassava starch, nothing else. 613% absorption, 99.2% odor control, 100% dust-free, three-second clumping with no binders. Biodegradable, compostable and flushable. This is the material that goes into every blend we make.
Pellet Cassava Cat Litter
The cassava porous structure in a pellet format. Odor stays controlled for up to a month with no added fragrance, and tracking drops sharply against loose granules. Absorption is 450% or above and dust sits at 1% or below. For markets where tracking is the complaint that drives returns.
Fine Granule vs Pellet Cassava
Both are cassava. Which one fits depends on whether your market complains more about performance or about litter on the floor.

Cassava carries the highest landed cost per tonne in this table. What it buys is the strongest performance claim and the shortest ingredient list — ask us to price a cassava cat litter wholesale order against the alternatives for your route.
Why Cassava Is In Every Blend We Make
Cassava is the only material in our range with no weak point to design around. That makes it the correction layer in all three of our mixed formulas — blend it into a base material and the base keeps its advantage while its failure mode goes away.
What it fixes
- Tofu at 1:1. Stops the sticking and adds 80% clumping strength, while the blend stays fully plant-based and flushable.
- Walnut shell at 3:7. Walnut has the odor control but barely clumps. Cassava supplies the clump and cuts dust by 70%.
- Clay bentonite at 1:1. Halves the dust, lifts odor control by 90% and stops the caking, at close to clay pricing.
What that means for you
- A ratio is a price lever. More cassava raises the performance claim you can print; less cassava lowers landed cost. Both are set at blending.
- One material, several tiers. Pure cassava at the top, a cassava blend in the middle, a clay blend at value — from a single supplier and a single container.
- It also carries the pH indicator. Our health monitoring litter uses the cassava formula as its base.
How We Manufacture Cassava Cat Litter
Six stages under one roof, powered by solar. Gelatinisation is the stage that matters — it is where the starch develops the structure that clumps in three seconds without a binder.
Starch intake
Food-grade corn and cassava starch tested on arrival for moisture and contamination.
Blending
Combined at 60:40. No guar gum, no calcium carbonate, no filler enters the mix.
Gelatinisation & granulation
Starch gelatinised and formed at 0.5–3 mm, developing the porous structure that carries both clumping and odor absorption.
Drying
Moisture reduced to target so granules stay firm through shipping and storage.
Screening & quality control
Fines removed to hold the dust-free result; absorption, clumping time and ash content checked per batch.
Packing
Filled, sealed and palletised in your packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is cassava cat litter made of?
60% food-grade corn starch and 40% food-grade cassava starch. Nothing else — no guar gum or other binder, no calcium carbonate or stone filler, no fragrance, baking soda or activated charcoal. It is also sold as tapioca cat litter, tapioca being the starch extracted from cassava root.
How does it clump without binders?
Cassava starch gelatinises on contact with liquid, so the clump forms from the material itself rather than from an added binding agent. Clumping takes about three seconds and the clump holds together when scooped.
Is cassava cat litter really 100% dust-free?
Yes, and it is SGS verified rather than a marketing figure. That is a stronger claim than the "low dust" or "99% dust-free" wording used across most of the category, and the test report ships with your order.
How does the odor control work with no fragrance?
The granule has a porous structure that traps odor inside it rather than masking it. Measured odor control is 99.2% with no fragrance, baking soda or activated charcoal added, which keeps the product suitable for fragrance-free positioning.
What is the difference between fine granule and pellet cassava?
The fine granule is the flagship formula, with 613% absorption and a 100% dust-free result. The pellet format trades some absorption (450% or above) for much lower tracking, and holds odor for up to a month. Choose the pellet if tracking is what your market complains about.
Is it biodegradable, compostable and flushable?
The fine granule formula is all three. The pellet is biodegradable and flushable in small quantities where local plumbing and regulations permit. Check local wastewater rules for the market you are selling into and label accordingly.
Why is the litter left uncolored?
Because a pure white granule makes blood in urine or feces visible. Dyed litter hides it. Keeping the material uncolored turns an ordinary tray into something an owner can read, at no extra cost.
What is the MOQ for bulk cassava cat litter?
Wholesale MOQ is 10 tons, roughly one 20GP container. Mixed containers are accepted, so you can combine fine granule, pellet and other materials within that quantity.
Can you produce private label cassava cat litter?
Yes — full OEM and ODM. Your logo, granule spec, bag size and artwork. Packaging design is included, and we provide SGS, ISO, TÜV, CTI and MSDS documentation for customs.
Can I order samples before a container?
Yes. Trial sample orders are welcome. If you are deciding between fine granule and pellet, tell us and we will send both so you can compare clumping and tracking side by side.
